Applicants are invited to apply for the Project Manager vacancy within the Group Port Projects Department, based at the Port of Liverpool and covering all group Ports.

Role Purpose: To manage Capital Maintenance and Business Development projects of varying size and complexity to meet the needs of the business and its Stakeholders. To monitor and control projects throughout their entire lifecycle, delivering the most effective and efficient solution in terms of quality, time and cost.

The Project Manager role will include the following responsibilities:

-Manage each project to the agreed brief and budget, ensuring robust financial management and commercial awareness, identifying and managing all risks throughout the project life cycle

-Prepare project briefs and contract documentation for agreement with the Project Sponsors, ensuring all requirements are met

-Manage all phases of a project including feasibility, design, construction, commissioning, handover and post project review

-Manage the change control process to ensure that deadlines are understood and that change requests are available for review at monthly meetings

-Work as part of the Group Port Project Management Department and support other Project Managers to ensure Business Requirements are met

-Deliver and lead the core project team, ensure effective engagement of all Stakeholders in the development and delivery of a project

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

-Educated to Degree level in Construction, Project Management or other related discipline, or equivalent qualification

-Able to handle and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and change in a fast moving operational environment. Proven evidence of being organised and disciplined

-Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications

-Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels. Confident in identifying and resolving problems and decision making

-Project management experience of large complex projects, within an engineering environment

-Knowledge of NEC and other forms of construction contracts
