Senior Project Manager
The University of London is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to join the Property & Facilities Management team.
The University of London is unlike many other universities. It consists of 17
self-governing Colleges and 10 specialist research Institutes which are some of the most prestigious universities in the world. In many ways the Colleges are considered universities in their own right; they set their own entrance criteria for their courses and they offer their own services to students. Some now also have their own degree awarding powers. All students from all the Colleges and Institutes are also University of London students, making them part of a community of over 120,000 students and giving them access to many services in London.
Reporting to the Deputy Director and Head of Capital Projects, the Senior Project Manager will be based within the Property Projects Team, and will lead the development, procurement and delivery of broad range of estates projects and development schemes valued from £0.5m to £15m+ from initial feasibility study through to commissioning, project handover and post
project evaluation. Projects will consist of teaching facilities, student residences, social and hospitality space, commercial property and historic buildings. Projects are varied and will include but are not limited to new build, refurbishment, adaptation and fit-out.
The successful candidate will possess relevant experience in a project leadership role with responsibility for procuring and managing complex construction and property projects varying from small scale refurbishment schemes to medium scale capital projects. You will have strong commercial management skills, with the proven track record of managing project budgets and leading on contract procurement and management of external consultants and contractors. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the drive, credibility and authority to lead and manage stakeholder groups and project teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious professionals to develop their career in client-side project management role across a diverse development programme within a leading institution.
