Project Cost Controller
RSSB is an expert body that helps the rail industry collaborate to continuously improve and meet future challenges. It spans the whole railway, including in its membership infrastructure companies, train and freight operators, rolling stock owners and suppliers to the industry. RSSB supports rail in the areas of safety, standards, knowledge, innovation and a wide range of cross-industry schemes.
We are seeking a Project Cost Controller to join our recently established Projects Team. You will play a key role in leading cost management activity related to project delivery portfolios across RSSB. Developing and maintaining cost management systems and working with stakeholders during the reporting cycle, you will contribute to budget setting, ensuring project budgets are challenged and variances properly explained. Central to this activity will be sharing your knowledge with internal stakeholders through coaching and training and updating processes to ensure ultimately the accuracy of the overall cost plan.
You will hold a recognised commercial or cost management qualification or equivalent or will be a member of a relevant professional body. An expert in this field, you will have experience of effectively coordinating and applying project controls. You will be highly numerical and comfortable with data analysis and hold strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
