Summary of Role
This professional Project Manager will be responsible for taking a key leadership role in the delivery of large, multi-faceted projects across Flex locations. The Project Manager will work within a wider project team across multiple levels and functions within the business. They will be a key interface with the customer taking primary responsibility for the overall management of individual projects including New Product Introduction, Business Processes Re-engineering and enhancements to existing services. These projects will sit within the portfolio of services offered by Flex and would include Forward & Reverse Logistics, Product Screening and Repairs, Spare Parts & Accessories Sales. The initial project the Project Manager will be responsible for is reviewing specific customer accounts and assessing the risks posed by Brexit. The postholder will be responsible for formulating mitigation strategies as a result of Brexit and identifying opportunities for new business which Brexit may generate for Flex.
To provide full support for the Request For Quotes process.
To actively lead the development of project/program solution and Value Stream including the generation of the IT solution architecture.
Be the main customer interface during the project phase.
To complete research and benchmark studies to determine industry best practices and incorporate them into the project solution.
To complete feasibility studies to evaluate potential impacts of projects targeted at new and existing processes.
Ensure adherence to Flextronics project management best practice.
Ensure effective management of project critical path using appropriate resource planning methodologies.
Ensure project delivery within budgetary requirements, in accordance with financial compliance rules and in line with industry leading quality standards.
To liaise with the Customer to ensure the presentation of project metrics and hold regular reviews to show progress.
To maximise on the delivery of Lean-Six Sigma & Quality best practices to establish best-in-class status for the project.
To manage and motivate a cross-functional team of project leads from all departments within Flextronics Manchester and the wider project team.
Prince II/PMP or equivalent project management
Proven experience of successful project implementation,
particularly in the capacity of overall project leader.
Proven experience of the whole project life-cycle.
Demonstrate rigorous application of best practice
Experience of complex project management.
Experience in Forward/Reverse Logistics or Service Repair environment.
Excellent client facing skills.
Knowledge of MS Project and/or Prince 2.
Ability to operate in the initial conceptual design stage, in the post go-live troubleshooting phase and at all intermediate stages.
Knowledge of Six Sigma Lean methodology.
Ability to foster motivation within the project team to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to impact and influence key decisions.
Ability to coordinate complex program solutions and the scheduling of activities throughout multiple business functions.
Flexibility of working hours.
Flexibility to travel within UK and overseas.
Flexibility to entertain and accompany customers outside of office hours.
