What it's about

Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council are embarking on an ambitious shared programme of change that will enable us to respond to the increasingly complex landscape in which local government is operating, and maximise all of the opportunities that are available across both authority areas and beyond. This programme will build on some of the major steps already taken across the two organisations to do this, and we are now seeking a brilliant Programme Manager to design and develop the programme in order to deliver large scale change across both areas.

This is a genuinely exciting and challenging opportunity that would suit someone who is excited by the demands of managing large and challenging programmes, and leading complex change. You will manage a new team of Project Managers, utilising your comprehensive programme and project management skills and expertise to ensure the delivery of a broad range of interrelated projects, and be able to successfully manage and navigate the nuances and challenges that a programme spanning two local government organisations presents.

This role is a fantastic chance to be involved in shaping the future of the local government landscape in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and work across two exciting and dynamic organisations which are both committed to delivering great public services and outcomes for people and communities.

About you

You will be an outstanding Programme Manager with the ability and desire to design and drive complex programmes of change and transformation.

You will have an in-depth understanding of a range of project and programme methodologies and practice, and experience of utilising these to deliver results in complex programmes / areas of work.

You will have the ability to navigate and operate within complex strategic and operational spheres.

You will be able to establish and sustain highly effective relationships at all levels across different organisations in order to deliver excellent outcomes and results.

You will have a track record in successfully engaging and leading others through change.

If you think this might be your next challenge and would like to discuss further, please get in touch with Amanda Askham, Head of Transformation on 01223 703 565 or via email: amanda.askham@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

Interviews will be held on Friday 23rd March 2018 in Cambridge.
