We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to gain experience of Project Management and has a drive to learn and develop their skills through practical application and continuous professional development. We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Nuclear AMRC to work within an integrated project team, ensuring that projects run in accordance with the Nuclear AMRC’s Life Cycle Management (LCM) systems and Quality Management requirements.
As part of the project team, you will co-ordinate resources and equipment loading to ensure that customer objectives are met and delivered on time. You will be customer focussed being the face of the team when dealing with clients throughout the project lifecycle. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues and engineers working on a variety of projects within the high value manufacturing sector. The projects will come from a variety of sources and be at different Technology Readiness Levels (TRL). Responsibilities will include ensuring projects meet the required objectives and are delivered within agreed timescales, project management and regular communications with staff and partner companies.
This role will involve the scoping of projects with many different partners and through different funding streams, with the planning of these projects being a major part of your role, including creation of documentation and financial forecasting. You will also be expected to ensure the effective use of all allocated resources, along with the delivery of value of money to project partners.
- Have some experience of managing projects within a research environment or the Nuclear sector
- Have a proven track record of promoting excellence within a team
- Have a good degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Project Management experience
- Be an effective communicator, both written and verbally, with experience of writing reports and delivering presentations.

The Nuclear AMRC specialises in manufacturing innovation and helping companies meet the needs of the Nuclear industry. It currently has around 40 member companies, including reactor providers, manufacturers from along the supply chain, and providers of specialist equipment and services. The AMRC with Boeing and Nuclear AMRC are part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, a consortium of seven leading manufacturing and process research centres, backed by the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK.
