The Assistant Operations Manager will report directly to their Operations Manager and are directly responsible for service levels, sales and operational issues within their Centre. The primary responsibility of the Job Holder is to achieve targeted KPI objectives covering all business sectors operating from the depot. To ensure target profit levels are also achieved through excellent service levels to customers, cost control and the management of all resources on site. Key Responsibilities: To lead the delivery of excellent customer service within the Centre To ensure the Centre maximises its sales growth and achieves agreed Depot objectives and KPIs through the effective management and control of all depot resources covering foodservice and BMB business operated from the site (where applicable). To work closely with the Operations Manager in identifying local opportunities to improve business performance To ensure all Customer Direct policies and procedures are adhered to at all times To ensure, at all times, that service levels are maintained in line with customer requirements, deal promptly and effectively with customer complaints in accordance with company procedures. To ensure the achievement of KPI objectives for the Centre. To manage the delivery of Company initiatives to maximise sales with current and new customers and to promote milk & more at every opportunity. To ensure that the Centre resources are allocated and utilised in the most effective manner, consistent with established procedures for Mandatory Quality Standards, vehicle legislation and Health and Safety. To ensure that all administrative duties are undertaken in line with the requirements for financial reporting, wages input and control, customer information and debt control. To recruit, train and develop employees, in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures, ensuring all staff are aware of responsibilities with respect to security, health &safety, quality, service and all operational aspects of the role. To manage the franchise agreement with the Franchises in accordance with the Company Policy and Procedures. To complete regular performance and development reviews with employees. Skills, Knowledge and Experience: The job holder should ideally be educated to A level standard or equivalent, and have supervisory experience in a retail or distribution, service orientated environment. A proven track record of organisational skills. The ability to motivate staff and manage resources effectively is essential. Able to communicate clearly and motivate all Centre employees. Demonstrate a passion and proven track record to deliver excellent customer service. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work in a time critical environment. Sound understanding of health and safety, employment, plus a full understanding of internal audit procedures.
