Under the banner of ‘Skills for Londoners’ the skills agenda is at the heart of the Mayor of London’s vision for London, ensuring both Londoners and London’s businesses have the skills they need to succeed. This is your opportunity to join the GLA’s Skills and Employment Unit to support the fulfilment of the Mayor's skills and employment manifesto commitments.  The unit is also responsible for the management and delivery of the devolved Adult Education Budget (AEB) in London and the GLA's European Social Fund (ESF) Co-Financing Programme.

We're looking for proactive and enthusiastic individuals to join the Unit in three different roles:

  • 2 Project Support Officers in the Programme Delivery team (Permanent)
  • Project Support Officer working across the Programme Delivery and Strategy, Policy and Relationships teams (Fixed term until August 2020).

Across the unit, you will provide effective and comprehensive administrative and project support. You will support development and delivery of projects and programmes managed by the unit in order to achieve desired outputs and outcomes within agreed timeframes, budget, to specification and operational standards. Projects and programmes will focus on delivering skills and employment support to Londoners and London’s SMEs, including delivering the Adult Education Budget, ESF programmes or strategy development.

You will need to be confident in establishing relationships with a range of stakeholders, including officers from government departments, the skills sector, business representative bodies, boroughs and the Mayor’s Office.  You will also need to work accurately with good attention to detail in raising purchase orders via the finance system and producing, maintaining and distributing project documentation. Experience of using Microsoft Office including word-processing, PowerPoint and Excel will be essential in carrying out the range of duties assigned to the role.

We are committed to be an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan, childcare voucher scheme and a career average pension scheme.
