About the role
The two Project Support Manager posts at a Band D or E will be funded from budgets within major Particle Physics Projects such as ATLAS, CMS, DUNE, and Dark Side Projects allocation (~0.5 FTE each).
You will establish Project Management structures to support Project Management practices and associated reporting requirements both internal and external to the organisation. You will report to technical/scientific Project Managers and PI’s and support in identifying and managing critical project objectives, facilitating communications and networks across an international collaboration, assist in project scheduling and delivery, reporting risk and dependencies, and delivering financial reports (forecast and budget) with advice/interpretation. You will specifically support the STFC activity but also engage in activities in the wider collaborative research programme involving both the UK and international partners.
About you
Essential:
- Experience of working in the project management profession - Band D, ideally in a research environment - Band E
- Knowledge and experience of project management methodology - Band D&E
- Qualified PRINCEII or APM or equivalent (S) – Band E
- Working towards Project Management qualification - Band D
- Documented evidence of working with significant level of semi-autonomous responsibility - Band D&E
- A high degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite and a willingness and skill to learn new programs quickly - Band D&E
- Ability to analyse and present information - Band D
- Experience of having presented to project meeting/reviews – Band E
- Provide personal examples of successfully redeploying resource or rescheduling to meet changing demands - Band E.
