The role
Estates is responsible for the management and development of University premises in Milton Keynes and its National and Regional Centres. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support the Estates department in providing an effective mechanical building services engineering service to several in-house projects across the University. Several of these in-house projects will relate to water hygiene maintenance and in particular legionella so previous experience in this area is essential.
Reporting directly to the National Maintenance Manager, the role holder will contribute to the successful completion of accommodation, asset replacement, capital, carbon reduction, major maintenance, minor works and refurbishment construction projects across The OU.
Skills and experience
This role will suit you if you:
- possess either an HND, HNC, NVQ Level 5 or degree relevant to building services engineering or City & Guilds diploma
- experience in a role delivering building services engineering projects, in particular working on water hygiene related projects
- have a strong understanding of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations combined with demonstratable project management skills
- possess the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels across the University coupled with the ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively
- are happy to work out of hours to supervise construction projects
