We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to work on crucial, regionally significant, transport infrastructure projects, playing a central role in building transport and highway capacity in the region.

This role will sit within the UK Central Programme Office which is responsible for delivering the Council’s Growth and Development Investment Programme in support of WMCA & Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership’s HS2 workstreams. These workstreams consist of a wide variety of transport, infrastructure and development projects of varying scale and complexity.

As Project Manager you will plan and manage the development and delivery of defined projects, working closely with technical leads within Transport Infrastructure Commissioning Team, to ensure they are delivered to the required scope and quality, within budget and on time.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who will be able to maintain the momentum on delivering key projects.  Educated to degree level or equivalent (e.g. HND/HNC) in a relevant subject you will be able to demonstrate relevant work experience in complex transport-related project or programme management.

Well versed in project management processes, your will have a track record of successfully managing multiple and complex projects specifically around infrastructure and development. You will also have

  • Experience of analysis, reporting and presentation of performance and management information.
  • Experience of financial management to ensure project compliance, including grant claims, audit and external funding requirements are met.
  • Ability to engage and build relationships with a wide range of major stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
