As a Project Planner in the GPDP, you will work at the heart of delivery of huge, complex projects.

The role of Planners is so important because it’s your responsibility to provide clarity on key milestones at every stage of the project. The focus is defining what, when and how activities should be organised. This is why you have such an instrumental part to play in ensuring project outcomes can be achieved, with the available resources.

At HEO and SEO level, you will be assigned to projects on a scale and complexity that match your current skills, knowledge and experience.

Once assigned, you will lead on planning activity and support the team in achieving the intended benefits and outcomes. This will include the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules. Crucially, you will be expected to challenge and test project assumptions to ensure that plans are realistic and achievable. This puts real responsibility on your shoulders. In addition, you will be tasked with providing expert advice to team members and the wider project community.

To join us at this level you will need to demonstrate experience of working as a project planner. Alternatively, you may have gained good knowledge of project planning in another role within a project team or PMO. Or, you may have worked as a project manager or work stream lead of a small project.
