Transport Scotland is the national transport agency for Scotland and is accountable to Parliament and the public through Scottish Ministers, with a budget of around £2 billion per year. It is responsible, on behalf of Scottish Ministers, for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the railways and trunk road networks throughout Scotland, for transport policy, aviation, ports, freight and inland waterways, and for running the national concessionary fares schemes. This role focuses on the data delivery aspects of the forward thinking smart and integrated ticketing and payment (SIT) programme, which was established to deliver the Scottish Government’s vision ‘That all journeys on Scotland’s public transport networks can be made using one form of smart ticket or payment’ and also leads on travel information open data and the Mobility as a Service portfolio.

The post is an excellent opportunity to work within an absorbing programme/project environment across a dynamic and challenging multi-modal, multi-operator transport setting. The programme is at the forefront of smart travel services in Scotland, where successful outcomes will deliver enhanced ease of use, payment options, digital information and other benefits to people using public transport in Scotland.

The role will be part funded by the Low Carbon Travel and Transport Programme under the European Development Fund (ERDF).

The current salary range for this role is £38,541 - £46,599 (pro rata for part time).
