I am very excited to be working with our retained client in their support of a Logistics and Transport Project Manager to join their team. As the Logistics and Transport Project Manager, you will be responsible for the success of the Project Delivery Team as well as various Operational remits across site involving Transportation, Haulage, Logistics and Supply. This is a management role requiring strong man management skills and operational knowledge whilst embedded into a project team.

This is a very varied and diverse role where you will be wearing multiple hats, combining the roles of a Logistics Manager, Operations Manager, Project Coordinator and Commercial Manager. A high level of flexibility is needed to really flourish in this role as two days, truly are never the same in this busy, high octane environment. Daily duties could include:

  • Man management of the Project Team across site
  • Resource Management, Costing and Commercial/Budgetary responsibilities
  • Project Resource Management and responsibility for team performance and delivery
  • Oversight of key transport and logistics operations and projects
  • Supply Chain oversight and resource management ensuring materials, good and products arrive and de[art to strict and stringent shipping schedules

The right person for this role will have a degree of tenacity and natural leadership to truly lead the team. You may be faced with challenging situations and you are expected to take charge of these head on. You need to be open minded and flexible and able to adapt at a moment’s notice as plans and priorities change.

Personality and culture fit is a massive part of this role. They truly want and believe they can provide a long-term career for the right person and want people who join to share that ethos. The right person for this role would ideally have a background in a busy working environment, desirably engineering/manufacturing but not essential. Successful candidates have previously come from the Offshore Industry, Construction and Heavy Engineering. Please note that this is a man management role and not just a dedicated Project or Operations role.

Applications from Ex Forces candidates with some civilian management experience are warmly welcomed and encouraged!
