We have a new opportunity for aSenior Project Manager to join a global leading technology manufacturer. The Senior Project Manager will have come from a technical background with proven experience of delivering electronic products from conception to volume production whilst managing risks, budgets, personnel and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working in partnership with Senior Technical Leads and Product Managers to deliver industry leading Electronic products into volume production
  • Manage regular project meetings, ensuring accountability of team members and individuals in the wider business
  • Applies advanced project management tools and techniques to achieve project objectives, meet schedule deadlines and budget targets
  • Ensure approaches/techniques are used for building high performing teams, maintaining good team morale and a high level of operating efficiency
  • Captures and manages project risks with appropriate mitigation’s
  • Manage project procurement, with mitigation planning for supply chain risks
  • Communicates to stakeholders, ensuring an appropriate escalation of issues
  • Negotiates availability of project resources with Resource Managers and other Project Managers, ensuring smoothed and optimised resource utilisation
  • Demonstrates leadership by promoting trust, interaction and shared commitment within teams
  • Incorporates quality into the project delivery

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Must have experience working within production environments where they are designing electronic devices for mass / high-volume production.
  • Must have worked within a similar role project managing multi-disciplined hardware engineering teams (e.g. Embedded, mechanical, Electronics, PCB, Quality ETC)
  • Must be very organised and diligent with the ability to control the room when holding meetings
  • Calm and controlled when setting expectations for the team

Other Nice to have non-essential skills include

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • Training in project management to a project manager level, with accredited certification through IPMA, APM, Prince 2 or IPM or equivalent
  • Experience with NPI/NPD of complex electronic projects, with outsourcing to Far East and / or European Contract Manufacturer’s with a good understanding of lead times for project planning.
  • Experience of improving production policies to aid in reducing waste, cost and time while improving quality.
