The Science Capability in Animal Health (SCAH) programme has been established to oversee the re-development of APHA’s science campus based at Weybridge. The site has a wide range of specialist and complex scientific facilities and is one of only 30 such sites across the world.  Many of the facilities are used to carry out science of national importance that protects human and animal health.   The programme is designed to deliver the new facilities over ten-years, with a budget in excess of £1B.

We are seeking an experienced leader to work with the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) to establish and manage this unique programme.  You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver work streams that enable this major infrastructure and transformational change. You will be responsible for the set up and management of governance, reporting, systems and controls; owning the continuing refinement of the business case; finances and other resourcing; and for the commercial and procurement strategies.

We are seeking an established Programme Management professional with a breadth of experience in leading large-scale and complex programmes of work.  You will be a strategic thinker and outstanding leader, with a track record of motivating high performing teams and building an inclusive culture, you will be able to influence and work with a broad range of stakeholders.   You will have the relevant project management qualification for a challenge of this scale and complexity, or equivalent experience.
