At BMNT we provide a range of consulting services to help our customers repeatedly solve incredibly complex problems at startup speed - sprint workshops, market research, accelerator programs, and bespoke strategic consulting. We don’t just pay lip service to bringing best practices to Government - we live it, every day.

Our Project Lead will play a central role in our consulting practice, delivering results for customers on specific projects and lines of effort. They will develop a deep understanding of the product; work closely with colleagues on day-to-day customer-facing operations, and contract management; and, deliver projects throughout their lifecycle, including facilitated workshops, product development, and customer management. Project Leads typically lead projects that are more complex, which face serious obstacles, or require larger teams to reach key milestones efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the programme’s statement of work and the customer's desired end state for all BMNT activities in the contract.
  • Delivering new or complex projects where precedent may not exist.
  • Working with customers to prioritise and adapt to changing conditions and objectives.
  • Leading or teaching portions of workshops while adhering to established best practices.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for scheduling industry engagements on behalf of the customer.
  • Leading meetings and calls with customers.
  • Managing workload and delegating effectively to complete projects in a timely but thorough manner:

    • Mentoring and guiding analysts, providing constructive feedback on performance and promoting improvement over time.
    • Facilitating workshops and events.
    • Completing requirements such as report generation or labour/cost projections.
  • Explaining BMNT’s products and services to customers; understanding and communicating how they address customer needs.
  • Recommending areas for improvement in BMNT’s products and services.
  • Maintaining a high level of professional knowledge in an area(s) of expertise through research, networking, and attending conferences and events.
  • Becoming expert in diverse subject areas in support of unique problem sets.
  • Assisting Partners and Principals in customer engagements within the subject area:
    • Business development support, such as ROMs and proposal responses;
      • Contract support to colleagues.

High Performing Project Leads:

  • Ensure projects run smoothly; anticipating and planning for potential issues and organising resources is an expectation of this role; however, high performers will remain calm under chaos and navigate the bumps in the road with poise when the plans get off track or a customer or situation becomes challenging.
  • Help define standardised project lead processes. Take leadership on definition of specific areas of processes, tools, and/or practices.
  • Establish and maintain trust and credibility with the customer, even in times of crisis, errors, and challenges.
  • Handle difficult internal and customer situations without support from senior management, while keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Contribute to the company. Achieving Objectives and Key Results is expected as a Project Lead but high performing Project Leads will be able to demonstrate how their work results in the achievement of the OKRs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven Program Management experience and knowledge of current project management methodologies.
  • 8+ years of work experience.
  • Work experience in the defence space is preferred.
  • Experienced user of project management/collaboration tools.
  • Excellent proven project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and doing whatever it takes to deliver outstanding results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate and present in both large and small group settings.
  • Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
