Work base: Workbase can be flexible, and a combination of office and homeworking will be considered

We are looking to recruit two hard-working, motivated and passionate Project Managers with a strong background in carbon management, climate change or energy efficiency. The applicants being sought for these roles need to demonstrate technical skills and delivery experience in a climate change and carbon management setting.

These roles are key posts within the Capital Programme Team. The Capital Programme is valued at circa. £120m p.a. and delivers projects on behalf of a wide range of services including Place, Strategic Infrastructure, People Services, Corporate Landlord and Fire Service.

These posts will play a significant role in the delivery of the Council’s Carbon Management Strategy. Under the direction of the Capital Portfolio Manager / Programme Manager you will lead, co-ordinate and develop carbon reduction projects across all Council services to work towards a net zero carbon position.

The ideal candidates will have a degree and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent recent and relevant experience in the areas of carbon management, climate change and project delivery, as well as considerable experience of project management techniques.

You will have a strong understanding of carbon management, climate science and solutions and the need for urgent, transformational change, and a successful track record in developing effective working alliances and partnerships in a climate change setting.

You must be adaptable and thrive in an ever-changing working environment and must be comfortable managing change. We are looking for candidates who are committed to organisational learning and developing colleagues.
