Project Manager (Mechanical)
Red chilli recruitment are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a mechanical engineering or mechanical manufacturing background.
The role entails the project management and related responsibility for the Company’s thruster, hydraulic and hoist products
Management of all projects from acceptance of order, through to final delivery at destination, whilst remaining the main point of contact for the client throughout.
Planning and scheduling of projects, generating scopes of work (EARs) for the design team and ensuring drawing packs are issued in full to production/purchasing on time.
Creating Jobs for each project.
Adding parts to a job (created by design) and modifying them so as suitable for production / purchasing purposes.
Procurement of specialist / long lead parts ahead of production to ensure on time delivery to the client.
Ensure projects are completed within budgetary targets and report any discrepancies to management.
Ensure clients are order acknowledged with accurate due dates and are kept informed of any changes to delivery dates in writing.
Liaise directly with clients and / or appointed project manager on all specification, order progression, change orders and logistical matters.
Aid business development and general sales in the areas of hydraulics, thrusters, hoists and service/spares sales for all product areas.
Provide technical sales support to existing and new customer accounts to create technical specifications prior to quotes and ordering.
Undertake pre-sales technical inspections and customer visits as required
Management of new and current export licences to ensure the Company always holds the correct and valid licences required for each project, so that the Company is fully compliant with current export laws.
Working closely with the design team to review designs, technical specifications and requirements for hoists, thrusters, hydraulic systems, rams and vangs.
Skills and experience required:
You will have a strong background in Project Management ideally within a manufacturing or production capacity.
Mechanical engineering knoweledge is crucial
Experience in thrusters, hydraulics, hoists etc would be a distinct advantage
Excellent communicator and all-round team player. .
Provide good and consistent visibility of project requirements for colleagues.
Self motivated person with a positive outlook.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines/project milestones.
