We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineering Manager (PEM) on a permanent basis working at our modern HQ in London. The Project Engineering Manager role encompasses engineering management on various engineering delivery projects and Multiple product development programmes within engineering business division. The Project Engineering Manager will need to be a talented and highly experienced and motivated engineering manager, familiar with working on complex product systems.

The role will require strong project organisational skills, a technical understanding and stakeholder management abilities with which to identify and manage a broad range of stakeholder needs that will inform the systems requirements, architects, and design engineers in support of their roles. The PEM role is a pivotal position to ensure the delivery of fully compliant solutions to our customer.

Key Responsibilities:

"Day-to-day management of multi-disciplined Engineering project teams, ensuring that roles and tasks are clearly defined and understood.
"Setting of goals, agreeing project specific schedules/ dependencies and delivery milestones
"Understand and interpret engineering needs / requirements in order to influence and support the SDA with the system requirements, architecture, and design, liaising with communication technical specialist teams, and the Cambridge ASIC Centre of Excellence to consolidate the Project plans
"Liaise closely with System Design Authority, and Quality Assurance manager to ensure governance and technical integrity of programmes.
"Establish and maintain good lines of communication across the Engineering IPT reporting upwards to the "programme manager" and the SVP of Engineering.
"Management of the Engineering technical documentation, quality, schedule and budget forcasting.
"Management of cost/spend adherence to the programme budgets. Work Package cost management for project control and reporting.
"Technical point of contact and liaison point for key customer organisations.
"Technical interface and management of programme's contractors & sub-contractors.
"Configure and maintain performance measures and matrixes for the area.
"Project progress reporting presentations for management
"Support Business Development in their roles of securing new business and setting strategy for the business, including business development when required.
"Identify performance improvements and propose candidate solutions and implementation methods.
"Travel within the UK to meet with our customers and industry partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential:
"Degree qualified or equivalent
"Experience of engineering team management in a challenging environment
"Good problem-solving ability
"Good schedule and budget control.
"Good written and verbal communication skills
"Commercial awareness
"Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, across multiple sites/locations.
"Strong leadership competency but also can demonstrate team-working skills.
"Knowledge of engineering lifecycle and business process.
"Good understanding of Satcoms environment.
"Ability and desire to drive the engineering teams to rapid conclusion and schedule.

Desirable:
"Proven technical expertise and management of technology programmes and full knowledge and experience of other related disciplines.
"Understanding of financial management and impacts on programmes.
"Experience in a "customer facing" role
"Experience of interaction with senior external personnel on significant engineering matters often requiring coordination between organisations.
