Senior Energy and environmental Project Manager - local Gov

Large Local Authority in East Midlands - working from home and site visits around Leicestershire

Your new role

You will be responsible for identifying and Commissioning projects that will address and improve energy use and sustainability of buildings, particularly within schools, Inline with the Council's carbon reduction strategy.

Duties:
To undertake the commissioning of :- energy procurement and carbon reduction, energy management, , capital and revenue funded projects. To assist in the monitoring of project / programme finances and costs to ensure they are kept within budget. To monitor and report on physical progress of projects on site against set programmes and their ongoing outcomes.
To commission energy surveys and feasibility studies (developing the scheme with the client) including design brief and overseeing the delivery by Operational Property Services/external consultants. , and in response to issues identified by end-users (via Operational Property Services). Commissioning and Performance
Management of energy related compliance activity including (not limited to) Display Energy Certificates, Energy Performance Certificates and similar. This post is expected to work closely with schools and other educational establishments.
What you'll need to succeed

Relevant Degree// HNC in Construction Management, Energy or Environmental Management, Building Surveying or similar

An experienced Project Manager who can demonstrate experience of delivering in the areas of construction relating to energy conservation and environmental issues.
Preparation of works programmes, preparation of reports and dealing with correspondence, Working with clients, the development of their requirements and the delivery of a quality professional service
Ability to communicate with staff and other department representatives. Contract preparation, OJEU tendering and contract Management. developing and working in successful partnerships with internal and external parties. Budget management in line with Council policies and procedures

 


What you'll get in return
Flexible working options available. This will be home based initially with an anticipated return of 2 days a week in the office in Leicestershire. Client meetings will be in Leicestershire.

This role is fixed term for 14 months
