AlphaPlus is delighted to announce that we will be working with the Scottish Government to deliver Scotland’s two existing national standardised assessment systems – the Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA) and their Gaelic Medium counterpart, Measaidhean Coitcheann Nàiseanta airson foghlam tron Ghàidhlig (MCNG).  These standardised assessments support the National Improvement Framework (NIF) for Scottish Education, and provide information to teachers to support their judgements about students’ progress, and inform actions to improve attainment and wider outcomes for every child in Scotland.

To support this work AlphaPlus is establishing a service delivery team and is pleased to offer this interesting new vacancy for a Helpdesk Manager based in our head office. Although Gaelic speaking would be useful for this role, it is not an essential criterion.

The postholder will:

• Manage a helpdesk team of between two and eight people to support schools across Scotland on National Standardised Assessments (NSA)
• Recruit schools across Scotland to participate in trials of literacy and numeracy materials in both Gaelic and English using established methods and tools
• Have experience in a customer service role, using CRM / helpdesk software
• Desirable - Speak and read/write Gaelic to a suitable standard to engage via phone and email with Gaelic users of the system as necessary (though the vast majority of interactions are expected to be in English)
• Desirable - have experience in public sector education – ideally Gaelic Medium Education (GME) in schools
