As a member of the Programme Management Office, you will be at the centre of an exciting and challenging programme that is selecting the next National Lottery Licensee. Your role is key to building confidence that the programme critical path is clear and there are robust risk-adjusted plans in place. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders in a complex and high-profile programme environment

What you will deliver (Responsibilities):

It’s about the Data Workstream. Your first task will be to project manage the data workstream.  This involves obtaining, reviewing and publishing to potential applicants of the new 4th lottery licence details of the current lottery operation.  This includes considerable liaison with the incumbent operator so significant experience of stakeholder management in a complex data, ideally competition data, environment is required. 

It’s about excellent PMO services. You will be responsible for cost effective service delivery of PMO services, ensuring that the programme team is supported by a solid foundation of excellent planning and risk data.

It’s about improvement. You will contribute to the improvement of the 4NLC team and Commission’s programme and project management maturity to ensure the right things gets done in the right way.

It’s about looking forward. You will coordinate and consolidate the programme plans, especially plan milestones and dependencies that lay out the critical path. You will proactively anticipate programme risks and plan to mitigate their likely impact. You will deal with issues promptly, be confident to make decisions within your responsibility or ensure timely escalation.

Key Knowledge, skills and experience:

Essential:

Working in the Programme Office function for the 4NLC programme and supporting the Programme Manager to ensure programme Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies are being accurately recorded and tracked against the baseline plan.

Leading on ensuring the programme plan is up-to-date and enforcing change control processes.

Supporting workstream leads in day-to-day planning and scheduling activities and facilitating timely escalation of problems to programme senior leadership team.

Leading continuous improvement of programme management practices and supporting colleagues in new ways of working.

Strong knowledge of programme and project management using recognised approaches and methodologies (e.g. Prince 2, MSP, Agile).

Direct experience of working on and supporting complex projects/programmes.

Confidence and experience in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
