We’re looking for Project Managers at all levels

As Career Grade roles we are looking for those that need support to start a career in project management as well as those who are already qualified, experienced and ready to help us support those starting their careers. This is a post you can apply for whether you are a recent graduate or have a few years project management experience and are looking for a new career opportunity and we are looking to appoint people at different points on the career grade structure according to qualifications and experience.

Publica provides project management to three Local Authorities. The salary range is purposefully wide in order to properly recognise your level of experience, qualification and talent.

About the role…

These exciting opportunities to lead projects that will transform communities, support the improvement of vital services and benefit the environment and local economy. We are looking for project managers who can inspire and drive a range of projects and programmes and have opportunities for those who have a keen interest but minimal experience in project support, those that have a good grounding in project management and those who are highly experienced in complex project and programme management. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects across numerous specialist areas such as Climate Change, supporting community health and wellbeing and the local economy and delivering affordable housing and waste and recycling services.

Project Support Officers will provide essential support in the delivery of projects, coordinating and monitoring progress, ensuring key lines of communication are maintained and project documentation is produced and kept up to date.

Project Managers would lead on the delivery of a range of projects and need some experience in project management however, we welcome applications from those who wish to build on their experience and gain further experience or qualifications.

The Senior Project and Programme Manager role involves coordinating complex projects or programmes supporting Councils in delivering a wide range of priorities and could include major property acquisitions and development or transformational service change. You would coordinate projects, working closely with project managers and project support officers to ensure a robust approach to project management. Experience in delivering a range of different projects across multiple disciplines is required although specific experience in delivering local government projects is not essential.

The appended Role Description and Employee specification sets out the requirements to be appointed at each level and the attached matrix indicates the likely criteria to determine where appointments will be made and how career advancement to Senior level can take place. We will support your career progression with training and qualification support from Officer to Senior level, and beyond.

You will need…

  • A level or equivalent qualification.
  • Undergraduate degree or experience in a relevant field (period dependant on role), or a combination of qualifications broadly equivalent to degree level and required experience.
  • Competent in using a range of technology and software packages, including Microsoft and Google.
  • Experience in supporting, administering, managing or implementing projects.
