Then join the University of East London as a Project Manager within our Projects & Development service.

There’s never been a better time to join the University of East London. With our transformational 'Vision 2028' strategy currently implemented, we’re reimagining and repurposing our campuses (that include a Grade II listed building and a library that won the RICS ‘Design Through Innovation’ award) so that they are fit for an ever-changing, careers-led world. And, with our Estates and Facilities Management set to play a major part in our exciting plans for the future, we need experienced project professionals like you on board.

As Project Manager, we’ll rely on you to support the Director of Projects & Estates Development in the delivery of the team’s annual programme that involves capital and long-term masterplan projects. As well as coordinating and managing a range of projects throughout the university estate, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that work is planned and delivered in a safe, timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. A typical week might see you co-ordinate the design, specification and tender of a variety of space alterations/refurbishment and small works, including carrying out feasibilities and budget costing planning. You’ll also regularly liaise with University functional/school representatives and delivery partners to maintain health, safety and welfare standards are always maintained. Indeed, building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships will be a key part of a challenging role that will be pivotal to us achieving our ambitious plans for the future.

We’re looking for talented individuals at all levels of experience, but, for this particular role, you’ll need a track record in the project and cost management of new build development projects and fast track refurbishment. With an awareness of the environment & leading sustainable projects.  You should also have successfully delivered a variety of project management functions, including preparing feasibilities, you’re confident with project phasing and planning, cost planning and reporting, dashboard reporting and monitoring, applying change control, risk management and project reporting. A proactive team player who also works well independently, you have excellent report writing, presentation and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to deal effectively with customers at all levels in a complex organisation with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

In return, we’ll provide a structured training & development programme to ensure that you’re mentored and provided with opportunities to enhance your knowledge and experience to enable career progression. You’ll also work with a management team that’s committed to progression, both of the environment and their people and, crucially, the chance to help create a truly exciting new landscape in the heart of East London.

So, what are you waiting for? The future’s waiting for you to reimagine it.

At the University of East London, we aim to attract and retain the best possible staff and offer a working environment at the heart of a dynamic region with excellent transport links. You can look forward to a warm, sincere welcome, genuine camaraderie and mobility in an institution led with passion, visibility and purpose. Your impact, resilience and sense of collegiality will directly contribute to the University’s future and those of the students whose lives you will touch and change forever. We also offer a great range of benefits including pension, family friendly policies and an on-site nursery and gym at our Docklands Campus.
