Opportunity to lead on a range of place making and regeneration schemes across Exmouth and East Devon

Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with East Devon District Council to recruit into an exciting opportunity that has arisen within their Place & Prosperity team. As a Regeneration Project Manager, you will lead on taking forwards positive and catalytic change in the town of Exmouth in East Devon. East Devon District is currently compromised of two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and forms part of England's first & only World Heritage site designated for its natural environment.

There is a vast and captivating landscape encompassing intimate woodland, boasting an array of scenic walks along the coast. There has never been a better or more pressing time to take forwards a range of place making activities across the region.

Your new role
Exmouth is the largest town in East Devon and with that it has the largest number of East Devon District Council assets ranging from a large redevelopment site, operational assets, car parks, open spaces and commercially let assets. Arguably there has never been a better / more pressing time to take forward opportunities that fit neatly within the theme of Place Making - using these public assets to drive forward positive and catalytic change in Exmouth.

This year there has already been a levelling-up bid for Exmouth and also discussions involving the local MP on the opportunities available in the town. As a Project Manager you will develop and deliver strategy and associated development projects, becoming both a corporate and wider partnership lead. Your role will involve the provision of evidence and strategic thinking to generate new funding and investment opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will need to have previous regeneration, development and / or place making experience working within the public sector, either within a local authority, government agency or strategic partner. You will need to demonstrate and excellent range of communication skills, negotiation ability and be able to implement political sensitivity and adaptability.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive an initial 2 year fixed term contract - an initial term which may have potential to extend beyond this fixed period dependent on progress achieved across this time frame. You'll receive an excellent competitive salary of £51,427 per year, and be able to take advantage of a wide range of other employment benefits, including 24 days annual leave, and access to the local government pension scheme.

You'll also be able to take advantage of a hybrid working structure, working from home 2 / 3 days per week, and visiting site / Exmouth for the remainder as and when is required.
