Be a lead character in Ashford’s impressive story
Ashford Borough Council is one of the most exciting Local Authorities in the country. You won’t recognise it as a municipal local authority as we are well on the way to being a commercial organisation. We have already funded the construction of a town centre cinema and hotel, and assisted in bringing forward other major projects that are changing Ashford’s skyline.
And now we are seeking a talented and commercially minded individual to work as a core member of the Corporate Property & Project Service (CPP) providing professional project input to commercial development. In doing so, generate additional income for the Council from investments in the property market, bringing inward investment and developing our local economies.
Responsibilities of this important role include assisting the Commercial, Development and Regeneration Manager to deliver a growing portfolio of investments in both the property and energy markets and increased income to support the growth of Council services along with:
- Advising on opportunities to adopt a commercial approach to other areas of the Council business.
Delivering projects that improve local places and generate sustainable income.
Devising schemes, scoping, writing specifications & managing contracts.
Providing professional input to project procurement for the management of consultants and contractors.
This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to be at the forefront of the council’s aspirations, leading delivery teams and driving forward key development and regeneration projects.
In order to excel in this role you will have:-
- Experience of forging and maintaining working partnerships with key stakeholders to design and delivery of shared objectives.
Recent experience of successfully leading the delivery of project outcomes.
Experience in identifying planning, leading, supporting capital investment programmes and or place based initiatives
Experience of forging and maintaining working partnerships with key stakeholders to design and delivery of shared objectives
For an informal discussion please contact Paul McKenner, Head of Corporate Property and Projects on 01233 330419 or Jo Fox, Commercial Development & Regeneration Manager on 01233 330422
