We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of projects in the central Projects Unit.

About the role

This is an exciting and challenging post working within a small team to deliver the ambitious and exciting growth vision of Star Academies. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordination, management and delivery of a number of new schools and converting academies. You will coordinate multi disciplinary teams and work with Principals and wider Service Teams within the Star Central Office to ensure project deliverables are met.

You will be an experienced Project Manager with the proficiency to deliver new projects on budget and within scope. You will have demonstrated the ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously, often at different stages of development. You will be a great communicator and be required to liaise at all levels internally as well as working externally with local authorities, the Department for Education and other external contractors. You will be used to working as a member of a team but equally confident of working under your own initiative.

This is a role that may require you to travel anywhere within the UK where new school projects emerge, and therefore being a car user is essential. It will involve the flexibility to stay away on a regular basis.
 

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree qualification or equivalent and relevant project management qualification.
  • Experience working as a project manager for large, complex projects.
  • Experience of leading, and working with, multi-disciplinary teams.
  • The ability to plan, monitor and provide effective reporting on the progress of projects.
  • The ability to use computer systems to produce high-quality reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and returns.

The Trust is currently operating hybrid office and homeworking arrangements. Office working will be based in our Trust Headquarters in Blackburn or at one of the many Star schools located around the country (including Preston, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bradford).
