A niche and diverse organisation, offering services to the oil and gas industry. They are perfectly situated in Immingham based on the Humber Bank, An area renowned for its diverse heavy industry and energy operations. This thriving location has seen huge investment in recent years, with a promising future and further investment anticipated. Due to continuous success, the organisation in mention is now recruiting a Project Manager to join their team. Monday – Friday 8:30am – 16:30pm plus additional hours (by agreement) as required by projects.

Your new role
Management of existing, small, diverse, multi-disciplined project engineering team whilst taking a lead project engineer role in a selection of structural and civil engineering projects. Working within an existing team, undertake cost management, cost reporting of all projects to the requirements of the Engineering Manager and Terminal Manager.

You will integrate the team with the demand of live operations, developing solid communication with all stakeholders. The role will work closely with an existing maintenance and operations team, as well as safety advisors, whilst striving minimum disruption to core activities. It will also involve significantly reducing current dependence on ad-hoc usage of the term maintenance contractor group by the project team.

What you'll need to succeed
This is a leadership role with technical advice and guidance available from the Engineering Manager. The candidate will need to be able to balance Safety and Environmental requirements, with operational constraints, whilst driving the timely completion of the necessary stages of each project in a coordinated, cost effective and sympathetic manner.
 

  • Project management – civils/structural
  • Refinery / petrochemical / rail or highways experience would be beneficial
  • Demonstrable experience at managing projects from cradle to grave of projects £10k to £5M value
  • Ideally Engineering Degree qualified + relevant experience, but will accept HNC/HND + significant levels of relevant experience
  • Computer literate
    • MS office (Word & Excel) essential
    • CAD, MS Project desirable
    • CMMS & Procurement software skills useful
    • Good time management and work prioritisation skills
