Job Function
Project Manager

At HMGCC, we combine expertise with innovation. Through communication systems and technical solutions, we help protect our national security. And, as a Principal Project Manager here, you’ll lead the teams solving unique problems and finding incredible technical solutions on our most complex projects that support our government right around the world.

The role

You’ll lead across a wide variety of projects, with timescales ranging from a couple of months through to a few years. Projects that have a global impact: meeting the needs of our government in the UK and overseas. Building relationships with stakeholders, managing expectations and co-ordinating our team, you’ll deliver results that really matter. You’ll lead other Project Managers as you oversee the definition, scoping and delivery of projects, drive planning and monitoring activity, and deliver risk management and project assurance. What’s more, as an experienced Project Manager, you’ll mentor others in the team to help them learn best practices and provide on the job training. You’ll be able to develop in your career too - through training courses and professional accreditation.

About you

As well as already being well-versed in the tools, techniques and best practices of project management, you’ll have experience in delivering a broad range of complex projects, demonstrating excellent leadership and communication skills. You’ll have a proven track record of building strong relationships with sub-contractors  and using your experience to mentor other Project Managers .

You might also have experience of building high-performing agile teams, carrying out assurance reviews or membership to the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply – although none of these are essentials.

Rewards

With innovative technology that’s constantly evolving, flexible working and incredible colleagues, it’s an exciting time to join HMGCC. And we invest in our people and offer extensive training opportunities too. If it’s relevant to your career, we’ll aim to support you. We also have a highly competitive pension scheme, active sports and social societies, free parking and 25 days annual leave.
