Project Manager - Southampton, £55,000. Bonus included plus an additional 28 days holiday

Your new role

  • Responsible for end to end IT project delivery, from discovery, initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, controlling, rollout, and post implementation support
  • Prepare detailed project plans for all phases of the project and program, including Business Case, Project Brief, Impact analysis, Risk Assessment, PID, Test Strategy, Communication Plan, Implementation Plan, and Benefit Realisation Plan
  • Ensure project delivery approach, technical design and solution, testing strategy, and implementation planning meeting project objectives
  • Responsible for internal and external stakeholder management, often involving cross functional business units, senior management, and 3rd party suppliers
  • Engage and work with project stakeholders to confirm project delivery requirements, providing project reporting, support decision making, develop effective working relationship, influence and negotiate delivery approach where appropriate
  • Manage change to project scope and schedule, maintain and communicate project risk and issues, and provide recommendation on mitigation, solution or workaround
  • Use risk management and contingency planning to ensure project remain on track
  • Manage and control business analysis and system testing functions, ensuring project documentations are fully signed off and appropriately stored, and testing is completed with zero defects before release
  • Provide project reporting, facilitate analysis workshops, checkpoint meetings, and direct software release/deployment effort
  • Actively involved in Requirement Analysis and Quality Control process, provide support and cover to Business Analyst and Software Tester where necessary
  • Provide demo and system/process change training to end users, manage UAT, release readiness and sign off process
  • Lead, participate, and drive technical review session, supplier selection and request for proposal process; manage and work with 3rd party solution provider to deliver software solutions
  • Participate actively at Scrum Development ceremonies - Sprint Planning, Refinement, and Retrospective meetings. Work with Scrum Team on time-boxed sprints deliveries
  • Responsible for internal and external stakeholder management, often involving cross functional business units, senior management, and 3rd party suppliers


What you'll need to succeed

  • Diploma/ Degree in a business or technology discipline
  • Prince 2 / Agile PM/ PMP Practitioner or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 year project management experience, ideally in technology setting
  • Solid experience across the full project management and software development life cycle
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Proven experience of working in a delivery-focus business analysis role
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Solid experience of delivery using Waterfall and Agile (or Hybrid) project management methodology and Scrum development approach
  • Experience in direct manage and motivate project team
