We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for the world of Engineering to join the AMRC as a Senior Project Manager. We are looking for someone with extensive experience as a Project Manager, or Senior Project Manager, preferably in the field of Engineering, Research or Innovation to add to our team.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be part of projects and programmes that range in scale and duration and will focus on supporting teams who are developing and demonstrating robust and world-leading methods of manufacture that will be taken from the shop floor and embedded into an industry partner sites. You will be supporting this integrated project team, built specifically to meet the requirements of the project/programmes you are working to deliver. You will be in an environment where you will be required to use your creative thinking skills, combining the development of research and technology theories, and applied manufacturing solutions in a non-production environment. As a Senior Project Manager, you will also need to demonstrate a high level of capability, facilitating low risk transition of these solutions into our industrial partners’ production facilities.

You will:

• Have substantial Project Management work experience with experience of direct line management.

• Have good IT skills, in addition to the Microsoft Office suite and a good level of competency in Microsoft Project.

• Have expertise/knowledge in project methodology and a range of techniques to ensure the project is successful.

• Have strong communication skills allied with organisational ability and enthusiasm which is key when discussing elements of a project to partners, customers and internal stakeholders.

Appointment to the post may be subject to a request for security checks, such as a BPSS check through to a Developed Vetting check.

About the Team

The Machining Group support advancing technologies in high specification machining and materials for the AMRC projects and programmes and as such is a dynamic role for the right candidate. Opportunities to work in several locations with multiple teams and customers will be available to the successful candidate.

We support our Project Management team through training and membership of the Association for Project Management.
