Project Manager / Client Liaison - New Build Distillery Project

 

Are you an experienced Project Manager with experience of overseeing medium to large scale built form and infrastructure projects?

Do you have experience or a strong understanding in the design, construction and commissioning of distillery or food/drink production facility projects?

Do you have a degree in Construction, Engineering or Architecture?

Would you be happy joining a well renowned international private investment group in a role that will see you become the client's 'boots on the ground' for a new build distillery project in the highlands?

 

If the answers to the above are yes our client, a major international investor are looking to build a brand new distillery in the Highlands area. They are looking to take on an experienced PM with experience working on medium to large scale built form and infrastructure projects (referable distillery / Beverage projects).

The role will initially be offered as a 2 year fixed term contract with a view to becoming a perm member of our client's international liaison team for the UK

 

What you need to have....

Strong attention to detail and report writing skills

Degree qualified in degree in Construction, Engineering or Architecture
Strong commercial and communication skills
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and decision making skills
Ability to manage changing scope in a live project

It would be ideal if you had experience or a strong understanding in the design, construction and commissioning of distillery or food/drink production facility projects as well!

The role

You will act as our clients main point of contact for the entire project. You will work with two externally hired consultants from the distillery / beverage background as well as communicating and working directly with the contracting firm for the construction project itself. The key aspect of your role will be to ensure the smooth running off the project by effectively acting as the client directly.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage project budget across the entire project and prepare detailed monthly financial reports including accurate cash flow, contingency forecasting, and oversight of all cost inputs provided by QS and Project Manager.
  • Act as conduit between project and the investors Finance and Tax team
  • Create and maintain solid working relationships with all key stakeholders including joint owners, incumbent professional advisor team, consultants, contractors, and suppliers
  • Act as a direct representative of the investment company in all key meetings and workshops through design, construction, commissioning through to operation
  • Act as our client's representative in assessing all progress claims and invoices where required
  • Act as our client's representative in assessing recommendations from consultants, escalating where decision from the international leadership team is required
  • Act as the client's representative during construction attending site meetings, witness inspections, commissioning inspections etc. Provide independent report as to progress, quality, safety, key issues, performance issues
  • Maintain records of all decision making on the project, including scope change directions, sign offs on design or technical submissions, acceptance of witness tests and other submissions throughout project
  • Make recommendations on all key decision making throughout the project
  • Act as conduit between project delivery team and ultimate Distillery operations team. Together with incumbent consultants oversee commissioning and operational readiness process to ensure a seamless transition
  • Identify and communicate project risks. Maintain an up-to-date management plan on risk and opportunities
  • Take oversight in ensuring our client's core values are embedded within the project
  • Maintain directory of all project documentation always ensuring available on the cloud for access
  • Monitor and report on performance of project team (consultants and contractors)
