DWP is looking to fill the role of G7 Our People Strategy Project Manager in People Strategy Directorate, People, Capability and Place Group.

This is a key role and we are looking for the right individual who will value the opportunity to join a small team (currently 3 people) to help us ensure that Our People Strategy plays a central part in providing clarity, and engaging people around DWP’s people priorities - driving a consistency across the Department with the aim of making this a great place to work.

The successful candidate will be an inclusive leader with a good track record of managing multiple strands of work – using insight and strong communication and stakeholder management skills to progress a programme of activity.
Successful candidates can expect to be involved in a range of the following:

Proactively leading on activities which drive an effective and embedded planning and performance culture across Our People Strategy activity, driving innovative and best practice approaches and scanning the wider environment for potential impacts on the People Capability and Place (PCandP) portfolio and work programme plus more widely across the change programmes;

Developing and maintaining Our People Strategy work programme to provide performance reporting to a range of internal and external stakeholders;

Leading on prioritisation and planning for Our People Strategy activity working alongside the PCandP Chief Operating Office (COO);

Partnering with COO on risk management for Our People Strategy - engaging to be a critical and challenging friend;

Establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder engagement across People Strategy Directorate, wider PC&P and DWP more widely;

Establishing and maintaining robust processes, providing secretariat services to support effective senior-level decision making across People Strategy Group;

Having a line of sight from Our People Strategy to our employees’ experience, providing a stewardship role to ensure the work is on track;

Providing strong leadership to a small team and creating a continuously learning culture in which colleagues are able to perform at their best; and

As a member of the People Strategy Senior Leadership Team, actively participating in the leadership and management of the Directorate, championing change, living the values, continuously improving.
