Risk Management

Salary: Band D £31,931-£34,709 (Dependent on Experience)
Benefits: 30 days holiday + 8 bank holidays + 2.5 privilege days + exceptional defined average salary pension + excellent work life balance
Contract Type: Open Ended
Location: Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) - Daresbury Laboratory, Warrington
Hours: Full Time (We understand the importance of work-life balance, and are happy to discuss the possibility of flexible working with applicants)

Here at STFC, our scientist, technologists, engineers and business support team work together to explore the unknown and turn what they find into work that changes the world around us. Whether it's sending probes into space or finding new ways to treat cancer, everyone here plays a vital role in making a positive difference to society.

Come and discover how much you can achieve when you're surrounded by world-leading experts, encouraged to constantly learn and empowered to explore your curiosity.

STFC's Accelerator Science and Technology Centre's (ASTeC) mission is to build the 'Big Science' facilities of the future; we design, build and operate particle accelerators and make major contributions to many of the biggest projects in the world today. Based at Daresbury Laboratory, we work with high-profile national and international partners including the Cockcroft Institute.

We are currently recruiting for a Risk Manager who can use their skills & professional experience to provide guidance and advice on threat and opportunity management to the wider Project Management team.

Working with the project managers you'll identify, analyse and monitor Risks and Issues, capturing these in a standard format and reporting at portfolio level to ensure we work better going forward. To do this well you'll also establish and maintain our Risk, Issues and Assumptions database and be promoting its use in the project management community.

To be successful you will need to be tenacious, highly organised and thrive working in a delivery focused environment. On top of that you'll enjoy leading one-to-one risk reviews & be happy presenting and justifying your findings to larger audiences when necessary.

And in return you'll thrive, grow and continue your career in an environment where we ask some of the biggest questions in the universe, to answer some of the biggest challenges in the world. Whatever our role, we have the freedom to explore, learn and connect, as part of a community that loves to share knowledge and support one another.

As one of Europe's largest research organisations, this is a place where there's always something new to learn -about the world around us, about your career, but most of all, about yourself. Join us and discover what's possible.
