Project Manager

AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager/ FEMA Project Manager to perform and manage flood risk analysis, mapping, and related services on projects at a national level. The position will be primarily remote work, with a home base of Dallas, TX or Seattle, WA., and requires occasional travel for in-person meetings,

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in moderately sized projects with moderate risk, complexity, and financial impact.
  • Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools.
  • May include management of small teams, in remote locations and/or management of subcontractors.
  • Manages projects on a local to regional basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance and client satisfaction.
  • Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and executes project.
  • Acts as primary point of contact with client.

Geospatial Responsibilities 

  • Supervise GIS staff, oversee geospatial projects, and allocate and review project tasks
  • Communicate with project team members, government representatives (federal, state, and local), and other stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and desired outputs
  • Manage large database and data visualization platforms
  • Customize GIS workflow and software programs for data collection, engineering, and environmental applications

Minimum Requirements

 

 

 

  • BA/BS in GIS, Geography or related field, and 8+ years of related experience
  • 8+ years of GIS project experience
  • PMP certified
  • Demonstrated experience with FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program

Preferred Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Master’s degree in a preferably related field
  • Proficiency using ESRI ArcGIS software
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be dynamic, personable and highly self-motivated
  • Have exceptional customer service orientation
  • Have a strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with GIS Production environment
  • Familiarity with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), FEMA Flood Insurance Studies, especially historical reporting requirements for DFIRM studies, MT-2, and other related studies.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate quantitative data to the client to both technical and administrative staff
  • Excellent quantitative and presentation skills, using software such as MS Excel and MS Power Point to organize and analyze data.

  • Staff have to be committed to completing the process efficiently and in accordance with FEMA’s timelines.
  • The U. S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS/FEMA) Personnel Security Division requires all disaster personnel to be U.S. citizens and be able to successfully pass a background investigation. Candidates will be required to disclose personal information including criminal records, credit issues, residential, employment, social and medical history.
  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. For Colorado locations only, the midpoint – maximum of the salary range: $147,758 – 191,826 USD (Exempt).
