The Project Manager is a key role sitting at the heart of our Major Projects and Programme delivery activities. This is an influential and exciting permanent position that enhances and develops great working relationships to deliver outstanding results.

Reporting to the Project Team Manager, you will work with programme and project professionals delivering both bespoke and emerging projects that are focused on tackling the climate and nature emergency.  This role acts as the conduit between developing the strategic direction and on the ground delivery across EA nationally, offering an insight into the full range of our work.

You will work collaboratively with many varied stakeholders including EA colleagues, delivery partners and advisory bodies to drive delivery, ensuring our environment is resilient and can adapt to the ongoing challenges it faces from climate change.

You will demonstrate a solid knowledge-base in project and programme management principles.  An ability to see the bigger picture and understand how data analytics can support the delivery of our ambitions would be beneficial; however, our project managers tackle a broad range of projects and we welcome applications from people with different industry experiences as you will all bring something unique and exciting to the table.

Experience/Skills Required:

You’ll have a degree in an engineering, project management or environmental related discipline ideally with a formal project management qualification.

You’ll have a proven track record of successfully leading people through projects and delivering complex programmes of work in collaboration with others; harnessing their skills, promoting innovation and driving improved performance.

You’ll have extensive experience managing complex stakeholders, operating across all levels of an organisation, demonstrating strong interpersonal, collaboration, influencing and negotiating skills. You will have strong mentoring skills to support your teams in the delivery of their work.

Experience in managing programmes of work, plus one or more of the following areas is essential:

  • Project governance
  • Commercial and contract management
  • Project management of engineering and construction projects
  • Project management strategic and change programmes
