We have an exciting opportunity to join the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC), part of the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Group, as a Project Manager within our projects and programme management team.

For this role, you will need to have experience working as a Project Manager, ideally in an engineering and client-facing environment. It is essential that you are able to communicate and motivate a team of staff and have excellent communication skills. You will use your ability to organise resources and attention to detail to aid with the planning of projects to deadlines.

You will have:

• Experience of working in a Project Management role with direct line management experience.

• Strong communication skills allied with organisational ability and enthusiasm.

• The ability to discuss at any level the elements of a project including the status to partners, customers and internal stakeholders.

Experience in delivering projects under NEC3/4 terms as well as use of associated contract management systems would be an advantage, but is not essential.

About the Team We are part of the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Group dedicated to the research, development and application of state-of-the-art technologies. We have an excellent track record of developing technology and integrating it into a shop floor environment to demonstrate financial benefit to partners. Recent developments and announcements confirm nuclear power in the energy mix of the future. This has triggered a large growth in demand and a growing need for skilled engineers with an interest in manufacturing.

The Nuclear AMRC are a Corporate Partner of the Association of Project Management (APM) https://www.apm.org.uk/ which means we train, support and encourage the Project Management team at the AMRC. This a supportive environment that is passionate about training and development.

You will work at the Nuclear AMRC Rotherham facility. This role provides excellent opportunities to increase and enhance your knowledge and skills, supported by a friendly team in an excellent working environment. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of R&D projects in any or all of the following areas: machining, joining, manufacturing engineering, control and instrumentation, simulation and verification, modularisation, supply chain development, and digital.
