The Equipment Sale & Plant Support (“ESPS”) business area is responsible for the global sale of equipment and after-sales services to third party customers as well as Air Products’ joint ventures.
Air Products’ goal is to have a “focused and selective” Equipment Sales and After Sales Services business that proactively supports the company’s competitiveness and growth. Specifically, this business provides a broad range of cryogenic and non-cryogenic new plant offerings and after sales services to the industrial gases sector, including engineering, maintenance, spare parts management, plant audits and efficiency modifications, construction advisory services and plant commissioning services.
The incumbent will work with various members of the business support and engineering teams, including Business Development, Business Decision Support, Accounting, Legal, Project Development, Engineering, and Operations.
Reporting to the Project Execution Manager ESPS EMEA, the Project Manager will assist the Business Development Managers with scope development and cost estimate preparation, project proposal preparation, project execution, and O&M project management.
The ability to build effective working relationships with the local engineering teams will be essential to success in this role.
As our Commercial Project Manager, you will:
- Commercial / Proposal Development
- Lead scope generation for the proposal with interaction with the Business Development Managers
- Participate in customer engagement meetings
- Prepare estimates for the proposal, working with the engineering teams and other groups within Air Products as necessary
- In conjunction with the Business Development Manager prepare proposals for the customers
- Ensure that project scope changes are raised and managed
- Ensure issuance of invoices on time, track and chase payment with the assistance of Accounts Receivables and Project Accounting.
- Project Execution
- Conduct project execution activities including cost management, schedule, budget, safety performance aspects and compliance with applicable legislation
- Be customers’ privileged point of contact for projects once in execution
- Setup and execute projects in SAP including cost tracking and reporting
- Manage Service Orders and Sales Orders
Your profile:
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:

- Familiarity with SAP system and processes.
- Strong influencing, communication and facilitative skills.
- Ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Understanding of Air Products’ offering and technologies.
- Ability to objectively assess situations or circumstances using all the relevant information in order to decide between options.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience including ideally 5 years of procurement or project management experience.
- Understanding of sales, finance, etc.
- Proven commercial/contract management experience.
- Strong communications skills.
