Hexagon FM are delighted to be retained to recruit for a Senior Project Manager to provide a complete Project Management and Delivery Service, from inception to completion, working with in house staff, contractors and consultants on multiple projects ranging from £10k to in excess of £50m, covering new build, renovations and adaptations. The post holder is expected to take responsibility for the day to day management of the projects and also the delivery of large elements of the overall programme of work. These are to be delivered to the standards required by the Group in a manner which provides best value for money.

Coventry University Enterprises Ltd, A private company, formed to manage the large portfolio of estates owned by Coventry University which covers 144 buildings predominantly covering Coventry but also spanning London and Scarborough and international sites.

The Senior Project Manager will report into the Lead Project Manager and will be responsible for managing a team of project managers and will develop the client brief and carry out feasibility studies and research necessary to produce a specification that reflects the client needs and will establish a project plan and programme, taking into account the relevant statory and local authority requirements and communicate the project plan to the client. They will monitor and update the plan and programme throughout the life of the project and provide regular written updates.

They will establish a suitable project team, including relevant consultants following group procurement policies, liaise with clients, solicitors or local authorities on matters relating to the development as required and co-ordinate and disseminate information to all relevant parties, ensuring the HASAW regulations are fully complied with (CDM, COSHH etc.).

Providing strategic building related advise to client and assisting with the development of project business plans, they will also provide technical guidance to other Estates Project Managers and establish targets in respect of project delivery, monitoring and reporting on progress against these parameters.

There are procurement responsibilities as part of the role and they must be followed in line with group procurement policies, but you will also manage tender evaluation and prepare reports with recommendations and building contracts for signature by relevant parties. They will also manage payment requests, consultant fee arrangements and financial agreements.

The successful candidate will hold a degree with a construction related professional qualification. It would be advantageous to hold project management qualifications or hold membership of a project management organisation.

They will have experience of managing new and refurbishment projects in excess of £25m construction value with experience of managing all aspects of building and consultancy contracts with in house personnel and contract staff with strong experience in preparing and monitoring risk registers and project programmes, as they will prepare regular project reports and present them to committee and the board.

They will undertake the successful delivery of design and build projects when undertaking the role of PM and EA, with strong financial, IT and project planning experience and Indepth knowledge of property and construction legalisation and contract law.

Able to work under pressure and lead in house and external teams with clear strategic thinking and the ability to understand and promote the role of the Estates Department with the ability to work flexibly.

This role offers a salary of up to £58,999 plus an attractive benefits package.
