London Legacy Development Corporation
London East

Who we are

Formed in April 2012, the London Legacy Development Corporation’s purpose is to use the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of the London 2012 Games and the creation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to change the lives of people in east London and drive growth and investment in London and the UK, by developing an inspiring and innovative place that people want – and can afford - to live, work and visit.

We are absolutely committed to better reflecting the communities we serve in east London, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about this too. We’re keen to hear how your work and personal experiences make you suitable for this role and we’d especially welcome applications from people based in our local communities, and those from traditionally underrepresented groups.

We are responsible for delivering one of the most important Olympic legacy promises made in the original London 2012 Games bid. This pledge concerns the physical legacy of the Games – the long-term planning, development, management and maintenance of the Park and its impact on the surrounding area after the London 2012 Games.

We are a Mayoral Development Corporation and therefore directly accountable to Londoners through the Mayor of London. We work closely with several organisations including the Mayor of London, the Greater London Authority, central government, our neighbouring boroughs, residents in local communities, local organisations, businesses and regeneration agencies and national and international sporting, cultural and leisure organisations.

What we do

LLDC’s responsibilities include the development of land in and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the management of the Park estate, the coordination of strategic investment to the area, and the delivery of socio-economic outcomes which ensure that local communities can benefit from that investment.

We have many different roles and our responsibility stretches beyond the boundaries of the Park itself;

> We are a landowner and developer.

> We are a Local Planning Authority.

> We are a manager of the parklands and venues.

> We host and programme large and small events in the Park.

> We are an employer.

The London Legacy Development Corporation is also entering an exciting period with the construction of the East Bank project – a new powerhouse of culture, education, innovation and growth – which will create sites at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for Sadler’s Wells, BBC Music and the V&A as well as UAL's London College of Fashion and University College London.

You will bring a strong background in outdoor events management with knowledge and experience in contract management, events management planning and stakeholder engagement.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a talented individual to work across LLDC on an exciting portfolio of activities to build on the success of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. You will support project delivery, risk assurance and reporting across different disciplines. This includes working on the construction programme for East Bank, the new powerhouse for innovation, creativity and learning on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. East Bank is a unique collaboration between world-leading universities, arts and culture institution that opens up opportunities for everyone who visits, lives and works in east London. You will also support risk management across LLDC’s wide and varied activities.

The main purpose of the role is to deliver risk reporting assurance for the East Bank project and delivering support to corporate and project risks, including maintaining and reporting on Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA.)

Is it for you?

You will have relevant lived experience of working with diverse communities like those we serve in east London, and a passion for creating a successful and inclusive legacy. You will also need to have professional experience of risk management, including identifying, capturing, quantifying and monitoring key risks, including financial risks through QRAs and programme risks through QSRAs. You will have experience of risk reporting across a wide range of audiences

As an expert within your field, you will ensure inclusion is at the forefront of all decision making, to achieve successful projects within the surrounding communities, developing the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park into a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

If this all sounds good to you, we’d love to hear from you!
