Pharmaceutical Project Manager - 6 Month Contract - £450 p/d LTD - Outside IR35


Role: Pharmaceutical Project Manager
Role Type: Temporary - 6 Months + possible extension
Location: Cambridge (Role can be fully remote)



Your New Company:

Our client, a science-led pharmacetical company, are looking for highly pro-active, collaborative and curious Project Managers with experience and in-depth knowledge of Pharma and the drug development lifecycle with perhaps a background in Regulatory, Clinical Operations etc.

You will sit in the PMO in the Oncology Chief Operating Office and provide Project Management support across Oncology on critical strategic priorities that often span multiple SET areas. You will be able to motivate others, take ownership for projects and maintain high standards for delivery.

You will work directly with Programme Leads and Sponsors to ensure deliverables fall within scope and budget and coordinate with other departments and / or Project Managers to ensure alignment between different initiatives.



Your New Role:

  • Agree and deliver plans for projects / programmes (or contribution in part to a larger project) including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities and quality
  • Manage project / programme budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, risks, change management, and status to support effective decisions and project reporting to stakeholders and review boards. Coordinate status and delivery of project workstreams. Identify / manage dependencies between projects (intra-program and across portfolio).
  • Assure / develop transition plans to ensure project delivered solutions are sustainable within a BAU operations environment, including controlled hand-over into operational support.
  • Manage relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure the effective capturing of business requirements and commitment to project/program objectives. Responsible for steering / stakeholder meetings, communication of status, issues, risks.
  • Ensure effective risks & issues management processes are in place and effectively used. Resolve problems and escalate as appropriate.
  • Build a cohesive project team and provide the leadership necessary to maximise the team's success. Provide individual coaching and development of team members as needed.
  • Manage changes to project/programme scope, ensuring that all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to stakeholders and review boards.
  • Develop service transition plans including controlled hand-over into support and maintenance.
  • Ensure the project team adheres to all PMO standards, processes, capabilities, and best practices.
  • Establish project governance and lead project governance meetings as required
  • Ensure expected benefits realisation is consistent with project deliverables and clearly understood by stakeholders and project team.
  • Support continued development of a world-class centre of excellence for project management capabilities and ensure that best practice is adopted and reinforced.
     

Essential Skills:

  • Strong Project Management Skills 5 + year / Knowledge of drug development process
  • Experience in any Pharma function Regulatory / Clinical Ops Development
  • Strong Stakeholder Management experience
  • Experience leading and developing project teams with a diverse blend of skills and capabilities
  • A capable knowledge of Financial Management and Benefits Delivery practices
  • Knowledge and experience with internal and external suppliers and solutions e.g., Consultancies
  • Evidence of shaping innovative solutions that have a major impact within the business area and organisation.
  • Experience with project management and delivery methodologies and standards
  • Strong communication, relationship, and consulting skills
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent business acumen with sensitivity to environment
