A leading IT & Communications provider is seeking a Project Manager to lead UK infrastructure projects.

Your new company

This business is a huge provider of IT and communications solutions across the UK, established for over 20 years and with an excellent success story of growth over recent years. This business provides high quality IT solutions to businesses across the UK, providing for various sectors and, due to this growth, their project management team has increased hugely over the last 3 years, and they are looking to further add to this by appointing a Project Manager on a permanent basis to join this team of 50. As a business, they have an excellent reputation due to the high level of service they provide to their customers, and they are keen to appoint a PM who can further facilitate this level of service delivery. As an employer, they are well respected due to the flexibility they allow for all employees, with remote working the norm and with a real focus on employee wellbeing and providing opportunities to all.

Your new role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will join the business as a Senior Project Manager, where you will be fully home-based and be responsible for the delivery of multiple infrastructure projects at any one time. You will work in line with approved budgets to ensure that all projects are delivered efficiently and meeting all deadlines set, therefore ensuring the highest customer satisfaction. Duties in this role will include the creation and management of all project plans, subsequently identifying all resources required to complete the project and acting as the main point of contact for both your customers and internal parties. As Senior PM, you will hold regular meetings to update on the progress of projects, continuously assessing the risk for each project and managing it accordingly. In order to successfully deliver on this project, you will need to create clear project documentation for project team members, whilst also working with and mentoring more junior project managers. From a financial perspective, it is vital that all projects are kept within budget, and you will therefore need to provide accurate forecasting, as well as ensure timely invoicing for all projects. In addition to the above, you will also work closely with bids and tenders teams providing critical information so that accurate tender questions and project plans can be responded to. The projects for this role are all infrastructure related, and you will be managing multiple projects concurrently, focusing on PRINCE2 methodologies. Please note that this role is fully remote.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent Project Manager experience working on infrastructure projects, and it is essential that you are adapted to working on multiple projects at any one time. The ability to effectively and successfully manage multiple projects concurrently is vital to the success of this role and therefore experience from a MSP or consultancy basis would be beneficial. As you will be managing infrastructure related projects, experience in this area is essential, specifically experience of networking, LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi solutions. As a business, they would prefer a candidate who has a professional Project Management qualification, ideally PRINCE2 or APM, however experience working with these methodologies but no qualification is also accepted. The successful candidate will ideally come from a telecoms or IT background and will be seeking a role working for an ambitious company where further growth is available.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £50,000 plus a car allowance of £5,000 and a very generous benefits package. This benefits package includes 25 days holiday (rising to 30 days and with an additional day off for your birthday), opportunities to have further qualifications relevant to your role fully funded by the business, a private pension scheme, various lifestyle discounts, a cycle to work scheme and various health and well-being benefits. In addition to this, the company is very progressive and there are therefore further progression opportunities available for individuals who are looking to progress their career in a project or programme management capacity.
