Project Manager

A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager within Reactors in Operations directorate. This role focuses on safely delivering multi-disciplinary tasks/projects and involves supporting the Project Manager in Decommissioning Projects.



  • Support project management strategies, adapting plans as needed
  • Manage the DCPSE Construction Site Area, ensuring CDM, integration, and coordination for a safe working environment
  • Assist in creating and maintaining the project baseline
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for efficient project delivery
  • Monitor performance against safety, costs, schedule, and quality, recommending remedial actions
  • Coordinate Project Documentation, including safety documentation, works control documentation, and project reports
  • Prepare handover documentation and support project handover
  • Efficiently manage projects within safety case limits
  • Review and report on problems/incidents, identifying and implementing solutions
  • Liaise with works control centres for timely resource supply
  • Participate in site emergency exercises
  • Fulfil Management Appointments responsibilities
  • Manage staff as a Line Manager


Aptitudes and Experience:

  • HND in Science/Engineering or equivalent qualifications with experience
  • Demonstrable Nuclear/industrial experience
  • Relevant Contract Management experience with an understanding of Schedule, Cost & Commercial elements
  • Construction experience and SMSTS qualification
  • Good understanding of safety requirements for industrial and nuclear safety management
  • Site and staff management skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated organisational and planning skills
