We are currently seeking a dynamic Project Manager to play a pivotal role in orchestrating the delivery of this landmark infrastructure initiative.

Role Overview:

As a Project Manager, you will be an integral part of a collaborative organisation committed to engaging stakeholders, obtaining development consent, and preparing for the commencement of construction. Within the Civil Works Programme, the Engineering & Technical function holds a crucial responsibility for defining design requirements, overseeing engineering tasks, and ensuring seamless integration within the project framework. Reporting to senior management, you will drive the successful management of costs and schedules within your designated scope, with a keen focus on Engineering & Technical budget, L3 Design Supply Chain Contracts, and coordination with Commercial & Procurement Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the Engineering and Technical budget within your specific scope area.
Oversee the schedule of the Engineering & Technical scope in your designated area, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
Manage changes to cost and schedule through the Change Management process.
Handle Design Supply Chain Contracts following the signing of contracts, including managing claims and variations.
Collaborate with Procurement Teams to outline and prepare the Design procurement process.
Coordinate with other programmes on the Design Delivery schedule and milestone logic.
Provide technical assistance to procurement and commercial teams in defining design scope and supporting the tender process.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination between engineering and design services.
Manage Engineering & Technical Risks in accordance with project procedures.
Report on delivery in accordance with project requirements.
Align Design priorities with Delivery needs in coordination with senior management.
Ensure smooth and timely delivery of design outcomes by managing the team of Project Engineers allocated to your scope area.
Requirements:

Essential:

Strong budget and programme management skills, with the ability to control costs and manage change effectively.
Practical experience across concept design, detailed design, and construction stages.
Experience in heavy civil engineering structures or external works, including familiarity with current UK design standards and practices.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership within a diverse delivery team.
Proven track record of effectively managing stakeholders and technical teams.
Excellent communication skills at various organizational levels.
Desirable:

Experience in the nuclear sector, particularly in safety-related structures and systems.
Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
Desirable:

Experience in the Project Management of large and complex projects.
