Project Manager

This is a great opportunity for a Project Manager who wants to step away from large tier 1s and work for a well-established and highly respected tier 2 main contractor. If you're aiming to progress up the ranks and develop your skills and knowledge in the construction sector by being hands-on and actually doing the job, then this is a perfect role for you.

Who are they?

They are a national tier 2 main contractor covering Health & Care, Commercial & Industrial, Education, Leisure, and Residential. They have over 58m worth of assets and a lot of money in the bank meaning you will always have a safe and secure position.

The business was founded 150 years ago with the sole purpose of moving away from the "process for process sake" construction style. They have managed to maintain a fresh, friendly, and efficient company culture.

As a business, they are firm believers in investing in their employees and helping their team develop on a professional and personal level. This is shown by the fact that 20% of their workforce are currently on development courses and 13% of their workforce are Graduates & Trainees.

What will I be doing?

As a Project Manager, you will be the No1 on-site initially managing a new build steel frame teaching block worth 8m. You'll be working on a range of different projects valued between 5m and 30m. You will be given more responsibility and pushed towards a Contracts Management role over time.

Initially, you will be working underneath a Contracts Manager with a great understanding of education projects and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Reporting to you, you will have a Senior Site Manager and a Site Manager who both have been specifically assigned to that project based on their knowledge and experience of education projects.

What's in it for me?

  • 65k - 75k Salary + Car Allowance
  • Clear and structured career progression
  • Consistent projects in the Midlands
  • Excellent academic and professional training
  • Ability to work on a range of projects across multiple sectors

Am I right for the role?

  • 2-3 years project management experience
  • Previous experience delivering education projects
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Previous experience in long-term permanent positions
  • Experience delivering projects valued at 5m+
