What you'll be doing

  • Be accountable for managing and leading the operational teams sitting within the department.
  • Provide operational rigour to our plans to grow our mortgage volumes and build relationships with our Virgin Money Mortgage, Personal Current Account and Business Current Account bases.
  • Be able to turn the strategy and direction developed by the Head of Mortgages into a robust operational plan in order to drive the expected outcome for both the mortgage business and the broader Virgin Money business.
  • Lead, develop and manage direct customer sales and relationships by overseeing a team of telephone-based mortgage advisors who serve our existing customer base and deliver cross sales benefits.
  • Be accountable for translating forecast into operational plans and targets, analysing performance trends and ensuring variations are effectively addressed.
  • Be responsible for the operational management of the channel (budgets and cost control and people leadership).
  • Engage and influence key senior stakeholders across the business in all direct mortgage matters such as Operations, Risk, Marketing etc.

We need you to have

  • Experience of leading a diverse regulated sales team with demonstrated ability to combine inspirational leadership with strong knowledge of people management practices.
  • Passion for delivering through people and ability to lead multi-channel teams across the UK.
  • Relevant experience in the Mortgages Industry.
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to build strong relations in the Bank's local community and with key stakeholders. Significant experience and knowledge of best practice people leadership and management including workflow management, coaching and developing others.
  • Demonstrate leadership, through actions and credible recommendations to improve lending.
  • Strong customer focus, with proven analytical ability to effectively problem solve.
