Programme & Portfolio Manager
West Yorkshire Police is seeking to appoint a Programme & Portfolio Manager to join Corporate Services based in Wakefield.
This is an exciting time to join the Change Delivery team within Corporate Services as we embark on the implementation of a new structure.
In this role, you will provide strategic prioritisation and coordination of the programme and constituent projects, as well as day to day management of the WYP Portfolio Office. You will support corporate and departmental objectives by providing strategic and professional advice to assist in the delivery of major organisational change programmes in order to achieve organisational goals, add value and deliver effective and efficient services.
Eligible candidates will be educated to degree level from an appropriate professional institution in a relevant subject, or will have accredited experience in an appropriate specialist methodology.
You will come with significant experience of leading and delivering complex change programmes and projects requiring management of medium and long-term timeframes, risk, benefits, financials, combined with major resources including third party suppliers, project and service deliverables.
The person appointed will be an experienced practitioner of formal project management methodology, such as Prince2 or APMP, and also programme management at a strategic and operational level. You will be resilient and able to apply pragmatic solutions and achieve results by leading, motivating, developing and directing staff in an Organisational Change/business transformation environment.
This role would suit someone with experience in delivering change programmes in a business transformational environment and a history of developing business cases for project and programme initiation.
In addition, you must be prepared to work flexibly in order to support the work of the change programme and travel throughout the Force area for business purposes.
