We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join well-established, family-run SME based in Winchester. The company specialise in producing bespoke joinery products for both commercial and residential markets, renowned for their attention to detail, customer satisfaction and reliability.

As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the performance of all operations, including manufacturing, project management, continuous improvement, production, accreditations, procurement, and administration. Your efforts will ensure an efficient operation that supports the sales growth and strategic aims of the business, driving lean processes and helping build a solid platform for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exceed production targets
  • Develop and lead the team
  • Perform within budget
  • Ensure capacity to meet future growth
  • Manage production processes and output
  • Attract, develop, and retain a skilled team
  • Achieve business objectives within budget
  • Effectively work with senior staff including the board
  • Track and report performance
  • Identify and implement continuous system improvements across single or multiple teams to increase efficiencies
  • Continually improve processes to expand capabilities and capacity
  • Drive system improvements for greater efficiency while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an Operational Management role ideally within a growing SME Manufacturing environment
  • Experience within a wood manufacturing environment would be advantageous
  • Strong communication and team-working skills
  • Excellent people skills able to drive performance
  • Strong personality with the ability to influence
  • Good IT skills and commercial awareness
  • Ability to work with and align multiple teams and queries
  • Overall business management skills and experience
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong work ethic principles including honesty, integrity, and respect
