A top retail bank based in either Bristol, Halifax, London or Leeds is currently seeking a Lead Project Manager to join a Branch Network Transformation programme for an initial 12 month period.

Overview of the Programme/Project

Our Distribution Strategic Review has led to creation of a three year programme to transform our branch network and prepare it for the decade ahead, bringing the best of digital experiences into a physical environment and new innovative interactions to showcase our brands with our customers. In year 2 of this programme we are seeking additional talent to join our team to progress development of our Flagship concept and development of new propositions for development and execution into our branch network.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Business Design Directorate has responsibility for the delivery of a range of programmes and projects, predominantly property related, but not all, as our projects skills are valued within Retail for other work as well.
  • Within the Format & Design team use our insight of evolving customer behaviour, retailing trends and new technologies to create branch formats and designs that bring our brands to life. We use customer insight to develop innovative, commercially focussed propositions to create new and exciting opportunities for colleagues and customers to interact.
  • We are custodians of the branch environment, ensuring changes which have a physical impact in our branches are designed thoroughly, tested and launched successfully.
  • To do this we:
  • Business Design Directorate has responsibility for the delivery of a range of programmes and projects, predominantly property related, but not all, as our projects skills are valued within Retail for other work as well.
  • Candidates will report to one of two Senior Propositions Leads and work as custodian of one of our signature propositions - developing and shaping the proposal, shaping the commercial impact and business case, and working collaboratively with change teams to ensure its competent delivery, marketing, promotion and eventual measurement of impact.
  • Understand trends in customer, market and competitor behaviour, forecast forward and develop concepts for branch formats and customer interactions in branches.
  • Inform, shape and influence current branch design across all 3 brands, ensuring customers and colleagues are at the heart of our thinking.
  • Develop and test new branch formats to ensure they are fit for purpose, add value and work commercially.
  • Work with a broad group of stakeholders to mobilise and support effective and efficient delivery of change.

Essential Skills and Experience

To help us execute this plan, we're seeking an individual who is a creative, strategic thinker, highly capable of sourcing, interpreting and presenting data in ways that engages stakeholders and supports great decision making. You'll have responsibility for developing and then working with delivery teams to realise new propositions for our branch formats, championing the customer experience at all times.

You will have;

  • An exceptional gift for bringing propositions to life through verbal and visual storytelling techniques
  • An engaging style that encourages stakeholders to commit and brings people on our journey
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Proven commercial instincts including creation of business cases
  • Strong and proven track record of creating engaging and compelling customer experiences
  • Instinct for innovation, forward thinking and pushing the boundaries of capabilities
  • Experience of getting things done through others holding true to the original vision
